Showers are quicker and use less water than baths. As an integral part of any
bathroom, they offer an alternative method of washing other than bathing.
For those people who have difficulty getting in and out of the a bath, a shower
often offers a perfect solution.
Showers have cold and hot water feeds, which flows directly through a flexible
(or rigid) pipe and a showerhead. The hot and cold water are either mixed manually by separate hot
and cold taps, or automatically using a mixer tap.
Some taps have thermostats, which automatically set the water flow to a pre-set
temperature.
There are several different types of shower on the market:
-
Electric Showers; cold water feed, which is heated by electricity as it is used.
-
Mixer Showers; Cold & Hot water feed, mixed manually or automatically.
-
Venturi Showers; New technology, which provides superb performance without a pump.
-
Power Showers; High pressure mixed water feed provided by a pump.
-
Shower Panels; A panel with many showerheads providing a stimulating massage.
