Baths (bathtubs) have always been one of the essential elements of all
bathrooms. But nowadays, they come in a mind-boggling array of shapes, sizes, styles and
materials.
These range from the rectangular, space-saving corner, or free-standing models.
Baths these days are made from various materials such as acrylic, steel, cast iron, wood or real
stone. Styling ranges from ultra-modern minimalist, to rustic or traditional. It's all down to
personal taste. The main types of bath are:
- Panelled
- Free Standing
- Sunken
- Whirlpool
- Spa
You may like to consider a bath without pre-positioned tapholes, thus allowing
you to choose the location of your taps, for example; wall-mounted taps or taps mounted on a
surrounding plinth can add that touch of luxury. More and more people are creating their own spa
experience at home by installing a whirlpool or spa bath.
It's tempting to go for the biggest bath possible but remember that large baths
can take a very long time to fill, use all of your hot water and be very heavy!
